History!

I want to tell you some of my story and why I am a financial coach willing to point people in the direction of managing their debt and investing/saving not only responsibly but fruitfully!

Back in the first part of the last century, my Grandfather was a very successfull and profitable business man. He was killed in a car accident in 1953 and left all his assets in a trust fund with a 'reliable' company. He had set things up so his wife would be able, not only to live but be cared for the rest of her life, at which time his moneys would be divided up between his 5 children.

Grandpa trusted a trust company who betrayed his trust! The transferred his funds from one place to the other on an ad lib basis because they earned good fees doing it. We visited our step-Grandma in 1964 and couldn't believe the poverty she was living in! The Trust Company transferred time after time till almost everything was gone. When Grandma died in about 1969, there was nothing left. I call 10K down from over 100K, nothing!

Now you can understand why I'm in the business of educating people about GIC's, Life Insurance, Mutuals, RRSP's etc. There are a lot of people out there willing to take your money but not willing to teach you about the tool you're using or why you're not making the return on your money that you should be.

Please read the fine print to any of your money documents. Learn where your money is and what it's doing. It's your money!

Wow! Has my life changed for the goodness of it all!

I attended two conferences in Philadelphia in October. One was on building your business and the other was about coaching itself. I had a lovely time and learded lots and came away changed in a maturing kind of way with lots of ideas and inspiration.

My focus has also changed. I am focusing more on financial coaching with a bent about laughter. I still do anything directly with laughter for one or a group, but I am learning all about some financial services that are focused on keeping it simple, get the right kind of insurance, and invest This is all done with the client in mind to make all the money!

One thing I'm very clear on in my licensed training is that when the banks talk about giving you 3% or 4%, they are pocketing the rest of the 12% and more that they made on your money!

Many people are underinsured and over-fee-d in their financial services! It's such a shame when it's the ordinary person like you and I that pay the piper in the first place and pay the price for a lousy product in the last place!

Take care,

All I Needed To Learn Was At The Toilet Bowl!

A terrible thing happened on July 24th,
The clip in my hair, she headed north.
I couldn’t find it that lovely morn,
But the sound of that toilet! In form?

I knew, I just knew what it would be,
Where north had become don’t you see?
Well some wisdom then I had to seek
Several people to whom I did speak.

They said “call a plumber, and here’s the number”
They said “women like you couldn’t be any dumber!”
But I knew I could do it so I called my mentor,
My brother just said “go to the store”!

So I went to the store, several times it became
A place where I went, just to aim!
I bought my supplies after asking some guy
A question or two to help me get by.

I fixed it all right, but it still leaked a might,
I stopped using it again, all through the night!
I procrastinated lots, I avoided the work,
I couldn’t proceed till found the big smirk.

It serves us well to eat the frog first!
Because it then saves us from having to burst.
It so much the better than having to curse,
And having to call on the helpful great nurse.

I learned that the frog, tho’ ugly it be,
Really needs to be eaten, That’s for sure!
Because it becomes too much to endure
And language becomes not possibly pure!

I found that I needed to work on my knees,
And ask for all help, if you please!
We all have to do number 2 don’t you see,
We’re not really healthy till we do more than pee.

One thinks it terrible just having to poo
But you know you’re not healthy unless you do!
So to this I say, when it all hits the fan,
Just find the smirk and make your own plan.

Understand that the crap we get in our day
Can become a source of play.
It creates an understanding heart,
Teaching us how to do our part,
And how to connect right from the start.

This all happened this last week but I can tell you now that I'm not afraid to tackle a toilet bowl mount anymore! It only took me three days what with phoning my brother after getting the run around from other male friends who told me I needed help, I needed to take the tank off the toilet, and other agrivating discouragements! Yeah for my brother who became my toilet coach! LOL.

Summertime

Greetings!

This finds us in the hectic summertime with lots of work to do mixed with lots of play to do! Mix this with a holiday, or some out of town visitors, and our time is full to overfull. This is certainly the way my summer is proceeding!

What I find most difficult is getting any housework done because of the heat of the summer along with the heat in the summer of my life (otherwise known as menopause!). Ohhhhh, sometimes I'm so hot, and sometimes I just wait till the cool of the morning at 5am to do the vacuming too. What I find most wonderful is connecting with family and friends as we travel or receive visitors ~ always a comforting happy time that re-energizes me and fortifies me for the days ahead.

I hope you're having some special summer events to enjoy and liven up your daily life! If not, maybe you can borrow someones family or visitors! Go off and enjoy the touristy places in your own community. You can learn lots and enjoy lots.

Laughter and Learn:

Here we are today, flying high because of a very successful teleclass this week on Laughter with Heart.

Children laugh 385 - 400 times a day for the sheer joy in the energy of just living! Adults laugh only 35 - 40 times a day. What happened to your joy? What happened to your energy for living! What happened to your humour index?

We can learn to laugh with intention and this simulated laughter brings about stimulated laughter and plays a big part in reintroducing laughter into our lives. A simple action step to take is to start laughing intentionally.

Say Ho-ho-ha-ha-ha, and repeat this two more times and clap your hands in time to the repetition of each syllable. Now shake your hands above your head and cheer yourself on. Yeahhhhh!!!

Next exercise: The Greeting.
As if you were greeting someone, you can laugh it out ~ hello- ho-ho-ho, hello- ho-ho-ho, hello-ho-ho-ho. Pretend you are arriving in Hawaii! Aloha-ha-ha-ha, Aloha-ha-ha-ha, Aloha-ha-ha-ha. Between each exercise or just for the fun of it at anytime, interject the Ho-ho-ha-ha-ha chant.

Doesn't this feel better to just get used to a little laughter again? Stretch those face muscles again and smile from ear to ear. Sttttrrrrrrretch those cheeks and create a smile from ear to ear! You can do it!!

Now, to help keep the goodness of some laughter in your life, just take a moment to write down a couple of occasions you are thankful for. Remember that someone who has helped make a difference in your perspective towards another? Remember the loving moment you shared with a friend? Remember the time when you felt close to God or nature? Remember with thankfulness, the time in your experience recently that you noticed something about yourself that you liked and admired? Appreciate all these things in the spirit of thankfulness and enjoy that feeling all over again. Ahhhhhhhh!

It serves you more to ink these thoughts than to just think these thoughts because the good feelings stay with you longer and it creates the best positive vibrations in our own experience. Good vibrations interpret as radiance! Right from the inner core of yourself! When you radiate that goodness, more of it comes to you. This is the Law of Attraction at work in your life.

Laughter With Heart

~ A new style of exercise program!

Laughter is, by research, very healthy for the heart and lungs, calories burned, and organs massaged. The good feelings of laughter don't last long enough by themselves and so, with some other joyful living and good-hearted living exercises, it helps to stimulate, sustain, and retain the benefits of laughter for balancing the mind, body and spirit. Enough laughter can produce enough endorphins to relieve pain and you are guaranteed a cardio-vascular workout.

Laughter exercises will create a shift in attitudes and calm us in the midst of chaos. Negative attitudes such as anger, fear, worry, perfectionism, competitiveness, and overwork create stress and rob us of our laughter and our sense of humour. When we replace these attitudes with more positive attitudes such as gratitude, kindness, compliments, forgiveness and chocolate, it leads to peace of mind, joy, love, harmonious relationships and of course more laughter, and we're winners!

Donna will be introducing you to several exercises that demonstrate the use of laughter and chocolate attitudes! You will learn some tickle tips to help you manage stress, chaos, and overwhelm. Don't miss this opportunity to laugh and learn! Your own heart needs Donna's jazz!

Sign up for this FREE teleclass at the link on the right of this post.
This teleclass is on Wednesday, July 5th, at 8pm est. (= 7pm cst, 6pm mst, 5pm pst)

Silence: What does it mean.

The meaning of silence is different for every one of us. Sometimes silence just means solitude. Sometimes it means I can't cope, or I don't wanna cope, I'm busy, I'm tired, I'm away, or just plain - I can't find the words.

These last few months have been a work in progress for me and my learning around myself and my future has been incredible. I will add to this blog more often. Tomorrow I will be posting the link for a teleconference call that I will be featured in with Abundant Living. This call will be about laughter with intention because simulated laughter becomes stimulated laughter.

Laughter's good feelings don't last long enough by themselves and so, with some other joyfull living, or good-hearted living exercises, it helps sustain the benefits for balancing the mind, body and spirit.

Stress is not a matter of what happens to you but it's more of how you look at what happens to you.

Many attitudes such as anger, fear, worry, perfectionism, competitiveness, and overwork rob us of laughter and a sense of humour, and if we can replace these attitudes with much better attitudes that lead us to peace of mind, joy, love, harmonious relationships and of course laughter, then we're winners.

Dreams and Dreaming

I ponder this matter of dreaming. Dreams can be so buried with years of duty and 'shoulds', with stereotyping and predictability, and with suppression and 'being mature'. Over time, we think that in "growing up" that we shouldn't laugh so much or be so passionate about our work or our life because "thats life". What happens is we also lose our dreams and aspirations and our joy for life.

Having fun with how we're living our life isn't being funny but rather, having the energy and the joy in the moments of our day just like we see in young children when they play. They aren't being funny even though they are laughing but they are just enjoying the moment. Perhaps what we adults need is to learn to laugh more, enjoy the moment, set aside the worries - (they always will be there to pick up anytime we want to burden ourselves again), and learn to live our dreams again. It stands to reason that to redeem our dreams is a slower than we wish process but I like how another coaching colleague puts it in her blog as dreambits. Take a look at her blog and/or website.
http://dreambits.dreamcoacher.com/

Learning to live our dreams again and learning to laugh and have fun again is so energizing! The return to laughter is good for our soul and our spirit so give it a try, you may like yourself!

Upbeat Your Day

One of the best ways to raise the ante of the days vibrations at the beginning of the day is to have a handy little notebook/journal handy at the bedside. Set it up and use it as a reminder and a way to evidence the goodness in your life. Nix the negatives! and post the positives!

In your notebook, have a page for each of the following: Choose what is appropriate for you and add whatever else is important to you. Write in detail what it all looks like, feels like, sounds like, tastes like, and smells like. This is ideally so have fun and get creative while you're at it!

My ideal day looks like:
My ideal client is:
My ideal business is:
My ideal home is:
My new job looks like:
My ideal relationship with my children is:
My ideal relationship with my mate is:

Read these pages every morning. This helps you to focus on what a great day you can have. Most times I rotate and have a seven day process of ideals that I can read and then I can ask myself, "Well, if that is my ideal, how come? What's my passion in this? Why do I want to be here? What's in it for me? What can I do to make it happen today? How can I make this day look ideal?

This thought process helps us to look at the big picture and reminds us of our original passions and is a great tool for raising us above the drudgery of our mortal minds and self talk which is all too often a negative jolt to our heart. Of course you aren't at the ideal stage or you wouldn't be here but pleasssseeeeeee! understand that if you always look at life from a point of lack, you will always be there, but if you look at life more from the possibilities available, you can drag yourself up from the doledrums and enjoy more moments in your day until your day is full of good moments.

A question to ask ourselves when we are too involved in listening to our own self talk is to ask ourselves, Is it true? Bet you can't get much collaboration for your opinion outside of your head!

Give it a try not a cry!
You can change the flavour of your day after all,
just give a call,
albeit small,
and you too,
can feel tall.

Have you ever felt like you've been married even if you're single?
Have you ever heard of a marriage like this? Well, you know that I know that you know someone like this. Read on.....

The Marriage made in Heaven became Hell! (and back again)

Have you ever heard the story about Miss I Wish that married Mr. If Only? Well, I Wish and If Only met one day and fell in love. They both had wonderful and lofty dreams. They just knew they had a future together! They were energized and life was lively and interesting and they shared many an intimate dance in a star-studded night.

After they were married, the years passed and Mr and Mrs Someday had their family. The first of their children was Whiney. Whiney beaks off all the time in the most irritating voice until he gets angry at the whole world! Angry is the next child. Boy, he is a number! It's very hard to be around him because you never know when he will blow up or what he's angry at! Some think that Whiney and Angry are twins because they both get whiney and angry interchangably! Angry followed right on the heals of Whiney but it's obvious to one and all they sure share the same gene pool!

Next was our little (ahem,) "accidents". Along came Forget It and right after that was indeed the twins I Will When & Later. Forget it would just like to do just that so she always tries to disappear but you can NEVER take a snapshot of our family dynamics without her because she's there every time! She never misses.

I will When & Later are who we hear from the most often. Endlessly, those two girls seem to have the most dreams of anybody, but they are always in the future for some reason. Can you imagine? The dreams never materialize! It's all too easy to ignore the twins and their constant dreams. They really should have been named Good Intentions But Never Made It . How can you tell they look like their Mother I Wish!

I Wish and If Only still love each other but realize they have lost their dreams, their energy, and their hope is dwindling. Their household is a cacaphony of anger, whines, wishes and regrets. They need help! One day, they found out that they could get some help to change their perspectives. They had to be willing for hard work, make a committment to change, and work on new habits all the time. They knew they could only achieve change if they had help from the coaching fairy!

They were approved for adoption by the coaching fairy, and the whole family has changed with the arrival of Loving Care and Fun & Laughter. They are a delight to have in the home and everyone has first hand experience at learning and understanding that love comes in many ways for each of us, - toward each other and for ourselves as well. You can only imagine at this point what this change has done for our family.

With the adoption of such special coaches, we have changed our family name to The Happys. (pssst! Forget It became Forget Me Not, and she takes all the family pictures now!)

If any of these family members have a place in your heart, you need the coach fairy in your life. Call now for a sprinkle of fairy dust! The bottle is always full.
